How to retreive hardware specifications

This article will instruct you how you can gather information about your computers hardware

Windows

To easily find out all of the specs of a Windows machine:

1. Press the Windows + R key on your keyboard;
2. A new window will show up:
   
   In the Open: field, please type dxdiag and press the Enter key or click the Ok button;
3. This will then open up a new window:
   
   In this new window, click the Save All Information... button, visible on the bottom row. This will start the process of collecting all of the specs of your machine in a .txt file you can share whenever you create an issue report;
4. The utility will ask you where to save the resulting file. Pick a location and click the Save button:
   
5. After clicking save, the utility will start the process of gathering your specifications. When complete, the resulting .txt file can be shared as an email or Teams attachment and should accompany every issue/crash report you create.

macOS

Grabbing neccesary information from a mac is simple.

1. Open System Information by, for example pressing Command + Space to open the Spotlight Search and type System Information
   
2. The Model Identifier, Model Number and Chip values can be copy-pasted and shared through various channels, and should accompany every issue/crash report you create.
