How to install the Co. Society Desktop Application (macOS)

This article will guide you through the necessary steps to install the Co. Society application on macOS

System Requirements

The macOS Co. Society application is supported on all apple silicon Macs (M1 or later) running MacOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.

The complete installation size of the application will vary over time but we recommend having at least 10 GB of free disc space to avoid issues.

Download The Co. Society Installer

Once you've verified that you're running a supported Mac with a current enough version of the OS and enough free disc space that satisfies the requirements to run Co. Society, download the Co. Society installer via the link below:

Running the Co. Society Installer

Once downloaded, run the CoSociety Installer.dmg

Drag the CoSociety launcher to the Applications folder.

The CoSociety Launcher just installed will handle the download of the bigger application as well as any future updates when they come.

Run the launcher by pressing CMD-Space and typing "CoSociety" and then hit Enter.

If you encounter a warning that the launcher is downloaded from the internet, please press Open.

The Launcher will initialise.

When completed, the launcher will automatically start downloading the latest build of the client and upon completion, you will be presented wth an option to launch the application.

Liquid Retina and Liqud Retina XDR Displays

If you are using the application on a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, where the camerahousing is built into the bezel of the display you may follow the steps below to avoid an offset for the mouse cursor within the application.

When the aplication is started, sumon the dock and second-click the CoSociety application, go to Options and select "Show in Finder."

Second-click the CoSocliety application.

Select "Get info."

Make sure that "Scale to fit below built-in camera" is selected under General.
