      Hardware Specifications & User Experience Advisory

      Describes the minimum, recommended, and optimal hardware profiles, bandwidth and free disk space requirements for running the Co. Society application

      Windows-Based Hardware Requirements

      • Minimum Specifications:

        • CPU: Intel 7th Gen Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 3000 series or newer.
        • RAM: 8 GB.
        • Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620 or AMD Radeon Vega 8 or better.
        • Storage: SSD with sufficient free space.

      • Recommended Specifications:

        • CPU: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 3000 series or newer.
        • RAM: 16 GB.
        • Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics or AMD Radeon Vega integrated graphics. Recommended dedicated GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560.
        • Storage: SSD with sufficient free space.

      • Optimal Specifications:

        • CPU: Intel 11th Gen Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 6000 series or newer.
        • RAM: 32 GB or more.
        • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 590 or better.
        • Storage: SSD with sufficient free space.

      Note on Performance: While "Minimum Specifications" support running the application, for an enhanced experience, especially in scenarios with high user density or complex visuals, we recommend or optimal specifications. Lower-end hardware may impact performance, such as reduced frame rates, especially as the demand on system resources increases. For the best experience, considering a setup closer to our recommended or optimal specifications will help ensure smoother and more enjoyable interaction within the application.

      Bandwidth Requirements

      The following represent the recommended Bandwidth requirements for running the Co. Society application.

      Recommended Bandwidth:  For optimal performance, particularly for intensive tasks or high-quality needs, a download speed of 10-25 MBps (100 to 250 Mbps) is recommended. This also allows for concurrent internet usage. It is possible to use the Co. Society application with 5 MBps or lower. However, when initially loading a new virtual office space with a large number of other custom user avatars that need downloading, this may result in delays loading those avatars. After initial avatar loading, bandwidth needs drop significantly. 

      Upload Speed: Basic operations require a minimum of 100 KBps upload speed. For tasks involving more significant data upload speeds, such as live streaming or screen sharing,  1 MBps or higher is recommended.

      Latency/Ping: Latency (ping) is crucial for responsiveness. Less than 100 ms is acceptable for general use, with competitive scenarios benefiting from less than 30 ms to ensure smooth operation.

      MBps (Megabytes per second) measures data transfer size, while Mbps (Megabits per second) measures internet speed. One byte equals eight bits, so 1 MBps is 8 times faster than 1 Mbps.

      Disk Space Requirements

      You will need 2.5 GB of free space to install Co. society. To put that in context, that's less than MS PowerPoint and approximately 1 GB less that MS Teams (Work or School).

      User Capacity Guidelines

      Under recommended specs, the Co. Society application is designed to maintain a smooth experience for up to approximately 30 users in the same space, with optimal specs this increases to approximately 50+ users. Greater numbers may be possible, albeit with potential experience degradation. These figures consider device-optimized graphics settings and minimal external app interference.

      User experience may vary based on individual hardware and connectivity and these are guideline figures, not hard limits, but are suggested to ensure all connected users can smoothly interact within the virtual office.

      Keep in mind that in certain collaborative scenarios and meeting or social spaces, large numbers of participants increase cognitive load for all connected users and therefore recommended limits are set for individual space in the virtual office to ensure the best experience.  

      We recommend adhering to the suggested specs to facilitate reliable engagement for all users, acknowledging that performance can be influenced by various factors beyond our guidelines.
